According to the ATO, education institutions have GST free status. Students do not pay GST on their tickets, however the school does. The GST amount will be itemised separately on your invoice for you to claim.
Recommended Audience Numbers
All Ontour inschools productions are designed as a stimulus for further classroom activities and it is recommended that all students attend. To ensure equity of access for all students, Queensland Arts Council has no minimum attendance figures and provides performances regardless of school enrolments. However, we suggest that where appropriate audiences are of at least 150 students. This helps ensure the ongoing viability of the program. If your school has more than one performance, we recommend that you group your students into similar year levels to maximise their experience.
Making it easier for you... If there is no suitable venue available at your school, QAC will pay the hire fee for an external venue. Your school’s Queensland Arts Council Coordinator is responsible for:
Booking the venue Completing the Queensland Arts Council venue booking form that is sent with your confirmation letter Faxing the venue booking form back to QAC Ensuring access is available to the venue one hour prior and one hour after the performance Sending the external venue hire invoice to QAC for payment.
Assistance with transport costs may be available in certain circumstances and should be negotiated annually with Queensland Arts Council. Due to touring logistics, QAC will request some schools to combine. We thank you for your support in this matter.
