History's most inspiring composers combined with the world-class talent of The Queensland Orchestra" The Queensland Orchestra presents Beethoven & Tchaikovsky With three great masterworks The Queensland Orchestra will raise the roof in Queensland's northern cities in Spring 2008. The Mt Everest of the violin repertoire, Beethoven's Violin Concerto will be performed by Yehudi Menuhin's protege and 2006 Paganini Competition winner, Feng Ning. The thrills continue   when Marco Zuccarini, praised for the warmth and finesse of his music making, conducts Weber's whimsical Der Freischutz: Overture and Tchaikovsky's magnificent Fifth Symphony. Kinetic energy is the energy of motion and there's plenty of musical motion in this fast-paced program. This concert explores a full range of movement and meter throughout time; from a heartbeat to a horse and cart, right through to high-speed typewriters and trains! Includes music by Bach, Mozart, Prokofiev and Stravinsky. Each performance is tailored either to primary or secondary school students depending on performance time.
