Workshop
Be the Beat
with Grant Collins

Working together to become the beat

Brighton SS

A professional, well-constructed workshop that was inspirational for both teachers and students.
Bremer SHS

One of the world’s most innovative drummers, Grant Collins returns between international and national tours, including the Sydney Opera House and Brisbane’s Powerhouse, to perform for Ontour inschools. Be the Beat is a fully interactive and motivating workshop where students won’t just feel the beat, they become the beat!

Students work in groups to learn body percussion beats and dance rhythms in a variety of musical styles, culminating in a dynamic fusion of dance and music in which everyone is a performer. Even more than music, this workshop delves into the importance of cooperation, physical activity and self-confidence.

Consistently receiving five star ratings from teachers statewide and booked out from one term to the next, Grant Collins, with all his rock star appeal, is gifted in transferring his love of music to the students.
