2008 Gertrude Langer Ensemble
Be enchanted with the classical music talents of the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University’s most talented chamber music ensembles when Queensland Arts Council’s Ontour onstage tours the winners of the Gertrude Langer Ensemble award in October.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, Queensland Arts Council’s Ontour onstage have, for the first time, presented the prestigious award to two ensembles, WonderBrass, a five piece brass ensemble, and Euphoria, a string quartet.
WonderBrass, consisting of Jonathan Christodoulides, Michael Keen, Kerry Thomas, Liam O’Malley and Peter Foley, is the Queensland Conservatorium’s premier chamber brass quintet.
Euphoria is a dynamic group of young women with diverse taste and versatility from Haydn to Shostakovich, and comprise of Lucy Warren, Edwina George, Tara Houghton and Stephanie Arnold – all in their final year of studies at the Conservatorium.
The Gertrude Langer Ensemble scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Queensland Arts Council’s founder and formidable regional arts advocate, Dr Gertrude Langer.
