Moranbah Arts Council
Moranbah Anullrts Council has been active in this coal-mining town since 1974. Our aim is to encourage and develop the "Arts" in our regional community.
The Moranbah Arts Council is seeking members with arts-related ideas, energy and enthusiasm and those with even a glimpse of an interest in the arts. Art is not necessarily about excelling. It doesn't just encompass 'painting and performances'. In Alice Springs, for example, beanie-making is a popular art-form and there is a wonderful festival dedicated solely for this, each year. It's not totally about the end product, it's about the creativity, the sharing of ideas a stories as well as a wonderful social gathering.
The Moranbah Arts Council exists for our community. We support arts-related projects, ideas, workshops and arts workers who are looking for an opportunity to immerse themselves in their arts form and to introduce it to, and include others init. We assist in bring wonderful performances to the town. We organise and co-ordinate many of the exhibitions you can see throughout the year at the Coalface Gallery. :
