Scrub Turkey

Traditional Australian music for bush dances and concerts

Scrub Turkey's repertoire consists of traditional Australian music and Celtic tunes. Providing concert-style as well as bush dances.

Scrub Turkey band members have been part of the Australian folk scene for the past fifteen year, playing with bands such as Blowfly Bush Band, Flashjack, Burdekin Bush band and Red Ned. Its members are Noel Wilson (vocals, guitar, banjo, mandolin, lager foot), Andrew Watkinson (backup vocals, piano accordian, mandolin), Kirsty Veron (violin and vocals) and Derek Foster (double bass, electric bass, guitar).

Scrub Turkey has an extensive performance background at festivals and local events in Queensland, including Woodford Folk Festival, YAG'UBI Folk Festival, Sunshine Coast World Environment Day Festival and many others.  The band also performed at the 16th International Fair for Investment in Xiamen, China, in September 2002 and at the opening of tyhe Shanghai International Tourism Festival in September 2003.
